PASGT clone - Baselli Co

Shell may be very similar to the US PAGT, but the liner and chinstrap has a more Euro-Canadian influence.

"The Chilean Army issued, on January 2006, Technical Specification CAK-5024 requesting a combat helmet with specific requirements (Protection Level:IIIA according to method NIJ Standard-0101.04). Finally it  accepted a "RBH-303 Classic" Rabintex Israeli pattern model, modified to comply with the said requirements and named "RBH 303-Golfo".

The T.S. CAK-5024 established ballistic conditions (V 50 > 610 m/s), weight, colors and other parameters, as the use of microphones and radio-telephone systems. The helmet is made of composite materials, Aramid being its main component.

This helmet equips at present the Chilean Army and Carabineros de Chile (National Police), the helmet is employed, without any modifications, by parachutists."

RABINTEX 303 - GOLFO

"A Rabintex 303, but the tag is specially made for this batch exported to Chile, on the tag you can read 'Casco Model Golfo', that is the name of the local made compos.
The Chilean Basselli Bros. company developed the original Golfo helmet for the Chilean army in the 90-2000, and it was deployed in some scale, with 2 or maybe 3 versions, mostly changes in the liner. With new army specifications, some years later, the helmets didn`t match the new protection specifications of the army, and it was too expensive for Basselli to get the machinery to make stronger helmets, so the Israeli helmets were acquired.
To add confusion, the Basselli Golfo helmets are still in use in some units, and still produced and sold to the army ( the last batch was in 2010 ). I don't know why the Chilean army is still using this ``weak`` helmet in some units.
The nice thing at least for me, is the new name given to the Rabintex, Golfo! - maybe a marketing move !"

"Born from the need to replace the old M1, by a model that will provide greater benefits ballistic, ergonomic and accessory ( mount viewers and elements of telecommunications ). The Golfo is manufactured entirely by the national industry : "Baselli Hnos. Ltd.", in para-aramid synthetic fiber, with technological consultantship of Du Pont, that manufactured an anti-fragmentary helmet under protection level NIJ II, and ballistic Limit V50 > 1,500 ft/s. The Golfo was delivered to the Chilean Army since the year 2000, in the amount of 15,000 units, and was used by the forces of Chilean intervention in Haiti. This model has a strong suspension of canvas. It was provided with a suspension of the Cradle type."

GOLFO 1 - with second liner system.

"The shell is as the original, but the liner is a  Gallet-type very similar to that of the Danish M96."

GOLFO 2 or Bs41

"This model has similar ballistic characteristics that the Golfo 1, but is 300 grams lighter and, the most important thing, it is cheaper! Equally, it fulfills the Protection Level NIJ II.
This helmet is provided with a lightly modified suspension, of the Riddell type."
