Project begun 16th October 2010 - project inspired by Adrian Blake
This is a basic guide to composite helmets - ballistic plastic, Kevlar, Aramid, Spectra, etc - used around the world. It is built from images and text contributed by collectors all around the planet, creating an organised set of information that can be used by helmet enthusiasts everywhere to identify finds and increase their interest in their collections. There are other excellent websites that include information on composite helmets, and many will be cross-referenced here, but this is the only site that concentrates exclusively on composites. All knowledge is good, and the purpose of the internet is to spread it widely and make it accessible for all. Contributions of images and text are welcome; please ensure that your pictures are properly representative of the real object, and that you definately know what it really is; not always so certain as one might imagine. Please note - this is a Collaborative Work in Progress - we need INFORMATION - if you can add detail to these pages please make contact (helmets (at) gostak.wales ) with Greg Pickersgill. |

UNKNOWN HELMETS - HELP NEEDED! |
This is a collaborative website. Therefore it is only as good
as its contributions.
If you use this site and have material you can add - either
photographs or information - please do so.
Email contributions to helmets@gostak.wales.
Don't just assume someone else will do it; if we all did that the web
would be empty.
