The Spanish Marte helmet may be the most confusing of all composite helmets. There are four main types - I to IV (os of 2014) - but within those four basic classes there are a number of variations. The difficulty is worsened by the fact that Marte helmets of any previous type are often refurbished, updated and modified to the new type. The ideal here is to illustrate all four basic types and many of the sub-variants, showing the correct chronological evolution. There is a detailed webpage here. Several sets for each type are shown at the moment, to assist with identification. |
